FCLP MAIN EVENTS
Leaders Protecting Forests for Climate, Lives and Livelihoods
Highlighting the role of forests and nature in countries’ actions to efforts to achieve their goals and targets under the 3 Rio Conventions.
The event will feature progress on the critical policy, finance, and technology solutions required to properly value forests and nature within public and private sector decision-making processes. While showcasing progress to-date, the event will also set the stage for expected outcomes at COP30. Taking place between UNCBD COP16 and UNCCD COP16 this year, this high-level event at UNFCCC COP29 provides an opportunity to highlight the role of forests and nature in countries’ actions to efforts to achieve their goals and targets under the three Rio Conventions.
This event also marks the transition of the FCLP leadership from Ghana and the United States to the United Kingdom, and Guyana and sets the stage for anticipated outcomes at COP30.

Ministerial event on carbon markets hosted by the governments of Guyana, Ghana and the United Kingdom
This ministerial-level event will bring together represents from government, private sector and civil society to reaffirm our shared commitment to growing high integrity forest carbon markets, to showcase progress and identify areas where further action is needed. Call to Action on Securing Indigenous Peoples and local communities forest tenure
This event will convene Indigenous leaders, government representatives, and philanthropies to outline how to strengthen land tenure security and forest management rights for Indigenous Peoples and other forest-dependent communities in tropical forests towards COP30 and beyond. The event will focus on two themes:
